I just got “The Pentatonic Mandolin” so maybe I’ll fire up BIAB again and practice the pentatonic scales and licks over some basic changes. I plan to do the same with some bluegrass tunes but my violin level just isn’t good enough to improvise.

This is the deal I got a few years ago and then I just added on the irish realtracks for $30 (RealTracks Set 173 : Celtic Bouzouki and Guitar) I got it because it had an accompaniment for airs. If you get that then you get ALL the realtracks so you don’t have to pick what you want. You would want to get the ultraplus crossgrade (having any similar music app qualifies). I just looked at the prices and their christmas sale is until 31st. It’s been a while since I’ve used BIAB because I’m taking lessons in my local music conservatory, which uses a classical curriculum. If anyone has already accomplished this, or does accomplish this, send me a “heads up”. I keep hoping some musician/audiophile will build and sell realtracks for the different types of Irish tunes. I think I would have a better chance of hearing BIAB tracks to my liking if PGMusic recorded the rhythm playing of good journeymen Irish musicians.
The newer versions of BIAB make it easy to mute specific instruments, so I would only hear the instruments I wanted. Adding a few other instruments like bouzouki, accordion, etc. When I first played Irish tunes, I found Mark Stones’ bodhran rhythm CD.
And, realtracks for the different types of tunes. I keep searching the PGMusic website looking for realtracks with authentic sounding instruments. I play alone and would greatly appreciate being able to have authentic sounding rhythm tracks to play along with. And plugins are by definition not part of the source.I understand that PGMusic realplayers are actual recordings of instruments, not midi files. But I would note absolutely nothing about being open source prevents one from charging for something. If the link you mean is the preview of what MuseScore 4 might look like at some point months down the road, the answer to any question about details is pretty much, we don't know yet, we're still busy inventing it :-). Also creating educational materials, also simply recopying existing music.
Composing for sure, also arranging, and also transcribing. There are many, many, many use cases for MuseScore. But these are all things you can do on any score without needing to have used the template. Generally, the most RB-like results would be obtained by starting from the Jazz Lead Sheet template, since this sets up a number of appropriate style settings - to use a handwritten-type font, to make certain lines thicker, add "wings" to repeats, etc. You can create them as ordinary scores that just happen to have only one staff (maybe splitting into two occasionally to notate a bass line or lother accompaniment or harmony part) and happen to contain chord symbols. MuseScore doesn't have or need a special "mode" to create lead sheets. Maybe I'm missing something, it seems like this would be useful. I'm curious if there's an expectation that the generated harmony would be merged back into the original MS file, so that the melody and harmony would play at the same time. console.log('buffering Harmony '+elt.text+" at " + currentTick)

I got around this by inserting the following code into the plugin, which seemed to work ok for the charts I've done so far. I ran into an issue that I use a variety of chord symbols such as Ct, F-, E07, etc, that MMA doesn't seem to recognize.

I've just started using BandInMuseScore, and was able to get it installed on Windows and working in MS.
